Parish Plans

The  Local Area Agreement for Bath and North East Somerset contains a commitment to develop 4 new Parish Plans per year over the next two years. Parish Plans are seen by the Government as a way for rural communities to run their own affairs and influence their future development.

Why have a Parish Plan?

A Parish Plan is an opportunity for your community to have a say in how your local area and services are managed. It can make a real difference, both to what you do within your community, and to how you work with others to improve local quality of life.

Bath & North East Somerset supports Parish Planning and has a range of tools and assistance available to help Parishes developing their plans.  For further information contact your Stronger Communities Manager:

Bath and Suburbs - Paul Pennycook - paul_pennycook@bathnes.gov.uk

Somer Valley - Dave Dixon - dave_dixon@bathnes.gov.uk

or telephone 01225 394327

Support to develop your Parish Plan is also available from Community Action, who can explain what the process is, support you in developing your plan and update on latest developments. Links to Parish Plans in Bath and North East Somerset
