Blue Badge Holders

This Council operate a Blue Badge scheme for disabled car users.

Where Can I Park with My Badge? 

Examples of where Blue Badge Holders are able to park free of charge include the following:-

  • Advisory Disabled Bays
  • Bath and Keynsham Controlled Parking Zones
  • On-Street Designated Disabled Parking Bays -Limited Stay
  • On-Street Designated Disabled Parking Bays - Unlimited Stay
  • Some Yellow Line Waiting Restrictions
Advisory Disabled Bays

These are found primarily in residential areas and there is no limit on the length of stay. Disabled Bays

Bath and Keynsham Controlled Parking Zones

Blue Badge Holders may park in the same controlled parking zones as resident and business permit holders. The blue badge must be displayed clearly at all times. Controlled Parking Zones

On-Street Designated Disabled Parking Bays - Limited Stay

These are primarily found in town centres and will have a sign to show the length of stay. Disabled Parking Bays

On-Street Designated Disabled Parking Bays - Unlimited Stay

These are also primarily found in town centres. If there is no sign on the footway or verge the length of stay is unlimited. Disabled Parking Bays

Off -Street Parking - Car Parks

Please Note: With the exception of the bays at the entrance to Charlotte Street car park  parking charges now apply to blue badge holders in ALL Pay & Display and  Pay on Foot car parks IN BATH ONLY with the exception of the Sports & Leisure Centre Car park in North Parade.  The tariff boards in each car park indicate the charges that apply..

Yellow Line Waiting Restrictions

Parking on double and single yellow lines is allowed for a period up to three hours providing you display a valid blue badge and set the time disc as necessary. Yellow Lines

You are not allowed to park when loading restrictions are in force or where you would cause an obstruction such as parking in front of a dropped kerb.

Other Permits Accepted

Bath and North East Somerset Council recognises Disabled Permits issued in other countries.

Parkmobile - Electronic Parking Permits

In November 2005 a more convenient and secure electronic parking permit (transponder card) replaced the current paper permit. Permit holders up for renewal after this date are now issued with an electronic permit.
