Leisure and Culture

Roman Baths by torchlight

Whether a resident or a visitor to the Bath and North East Somerset area, you'll find more than enough ways to enjoy your leisure time.

Of course the Georgian splendour of the City of Bath with its crescents, Circus and the Roman Baths is a major tourist attraction and recognised by Unesco as a World Heritage Site.

Other major attractions are the Fashion Museum, Victoria Art Gallery, Bath Abbey and the No 1 Royal Crescent.

Local history is told in the superb Radstock Museum and Bath Postal Museum. Our librariessports, clubs and centres  and leisure/fitness also offer excellent facilities to stimulate the body and mind.

Canal and cyclist

Don't forget, the Bath and North East Somerset area also has wonderful natural assets and is popular with walkers, cyclists and those who enjoy the great outdoors.

Rich in history and nature, the area also enjoys a high cultural profile. The area has no fewer than fifteen festivals each year, including Bath International Music Festival, Bath Mozartfest and Bath Literature Festival.

TheatreRoyal

The famous Theatre Royal is one of the oldest working theatres in the country and together with the Ustinov Studio hosts productions by The National Theatre and The Royal Shakespeare Company amongst others.

Thermae Bath Spa is the only Spa in Great Britain to offer bathing in naturally warm spring water. It is located near the Roman Baths at the heart of the city.
