Bath Transport Package - Major Scheme Bid
The Bath Transportation Package is a £54 million scheme to
improve public transport and pedestrian access for all residents
and visitors in the City of Bath and the surrounding area.
The package underpins both the ‘Vision for Bath’, the World
Heritage status and tourism. The bid was submitted to the
Department for Transport in July 2006 who have now approved the
scheme for Programme Entry, indicating their intention to provide
the necessary funding once all the statutory approvals and tenders
for scheme construction are in place.
The Bath Package aims to provide a modern, integrated and
easy-to-use public transport systems which seeks to:

- Reduce traffic congestion
- Improve accessibility
- Improve road safety
- Improve the quality of life
The scheme has been developed through technical assessment and
stakeholder and public consultation and comprises the following
