Forthcoming changes to local bus services in Bath & North East Somerset

Journey Planners (Buses, trains, cycling, walking, coaches)

Transport Direct provides lots of useful information on the best ways to get from A-Z across the UK, including times for trains and buses, train fares and some cycling and walking routes, too. If you already know where you're going and the way you want to get there.

Traveline provides timetables and journey planners for bus, coach and rail services in the South West. Traveline is also available on tel. 0871 200 22 33 between 7 am and 10 pm (calls cost 10p per minute from landlines).

 

Trains

You can check on rail times directly using National Rail Enquiries you can even check live departure times for trains online.

Or you can check your local transport operators' websites to buy rail tickets or look for further travel information... local transport providers for rail in this area include First Great Western and Cross Country Trains

Plus Bus can also tell you about the best combined local bus and rail ticket options. If you're in a hurry, tired from the day, or it's raining, you can also try traintaxi.com for your nearest local taxi service from the train station.

 

Buses

For buses use Traveline. However useful information can be found from First Group, Abus, and South Gloucestershire Bus & Coach Company who are our main local providers for buses. There is also a wealth of information on our bus pages including details of supported local bus services we provide with initiatives such as farecar.

 

Coaches

If you want information about coach travel check with National Express or use journey planners such as Transport Direct or Traveline

 

Park & Ride

Visit our pages for comprehensive information on Park & Ride in Bath. If you are travelling cross boundary to Bristol then visit Bristol City Councils Park & Ride pages.

 

Community Transport

If you cannot use regular public transport services, the new website gettingaboutgreaterbristol is a great place to start for more accessible transport options. Alternative our community transport pages provide lots of useful information.

Next time you are arranging a visit to an individual organisation have a look on their website as they often have their own directions of how to access their premises by walking and cycling as well as the car.

Car

If you need a car then look at the road report which is our interactive service to help you find out about road works and closures currently in operation that may affect your journey. Alternatively the AA - Route Planner and provides useful information for car drivers throughout the UK. Please consider the park & ride if you are commuting to Bath but if it's not for you then use our parking pages to find out about parking facilities in the area.
