Services that are unprofitable but socially necessary are
financially supported by Bath & North East Somerset Council and
run by companies under contract. These services are known as
Supported Services.
Financial support for non-commercial services is limited by
local authority budget. Nevertheless for 2007/08 the Council
is providing £630,000 in financial support for non-commercial bus
services from its own budget and is also distributing £236,000
in Rural Bus Subsidy Grant from the Government. |
