Joint Local Access Forum

The three councils of Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol City and South Gloucestershire, have joined forces to form a Joint Local Access Forum (JLAF). The JLAF provides advice to the Councils on improving public rights of way and other access in the area.

More information is available on the Joint Local Access Forum website (opens a new window).

If you would like to be a member of the Joint Local Access Forum and advise on the development of access to the outdoors in this area? Apply by Friday 13th June 2008, details and an application form can be found at www.jlaf.org.uk

Rights of Way Improvement Plan (ROWIP)

Bath & North East Somerset is working with Bristol City Council and South Gloucestershire Councils to produce a Rights of Way Improvement Plan, to be published November 2007. Further information is at www.jlaf.org.uk/rowip

The Rights of Way Improvement Plan (ROWIP) will be a chance to look at the network of routes and consider how people use, or want to use those routes and then plan our future work on public rights of way and access to the outdoors. We will look particularly at the needs of the public, including the needs of the disabled. We have undertaken some initial work for the Joint Local Transport Plan and have stated that our overall aim is to increase the use of the local rights of way network.

More information on the Rights of Way Improvement Plans can be found at defra the government departments website.
