A blooming successful competition
PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
THE winner of a competition
organised by Bath & North East Somerset Council to design a flower
bed at Wellsway in Bath will be presented with his prize at 9.30am
on Friday, June 18.
Kevin O’Malley from Bath has won a
meal for two at The Wife of Bath restaurant and will be the first to
see his design completed.
The competition was organised as
part of the annual Bath Spring Flower Show and to mark the Royal
Horticultural Society’s Year of Gardening.
Mr O’Malley’s design was based
around a daisy made up of different coloured petals and features a
number of different plants and flowers.
The flower bed itself is 12 metres
in diameter, is slightly raised and is highly visible from the road
and walkway.

A photo call has been organised at
the flower bed on Friday, June 18 at 9.30am when Mr O’Malley will be
presented with his prize by Mrs Ainsley Ensom of from The Wife of
Bath, Andrea Winterflood from the Council’s Parks Department and
Cllr Marian McNeir, Chairman of Bath & North East Somerset Council.
The flower bed is situated at the
bottom of Wellsway - just under the railway bridge at the Churchill
