Adult Learners Week in Bath & North East Somerset2004

 

To celebrate Adult Learners Week (15-23 May), Bath & North East Somerset Council has organised an exhibition of digital photography at the Holborne Museum in Bath.

 

The photos have all be taken by people on one of the Council’s Adult and Community Education Team’s popular introduction to digital photography courses and are based on the theme of ‘Around the City’.

 

The exhibition will be open to the public from Saturday 15 May to Friday 21 May  during normal museum opening times which are: Tuesday to Saturday 10am -5pm, Sunday 2.30pm-5.30pm. The museum is closed on Monday.

 

Marcia Wanklyn, Community Learning Development Co-ordinator, said: “Digital photography is just one of a number of courses Bath & North East Somerset Council can offer local residents.”

 

In addition to the exhibition there will be a celebration evening on Monday 17 May at the Fry Club in Keynsham when a number of outstanding adult learners will be presented with National Institute of Adult Continuing Education certificates by Mike Young the Council’s Director of Education.  The celebration evening has been organised by Bath & North East Somerset Council in partnership with the City of Bath College and Norton Radstock College.

The courses are part of the Community Learning Development Project which is funded by the Learning and Skills Council West of England and the European Social Fund, in partnership with Bath & North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire, Bristol and North Somerset Councils.
