For Immediate
Release

Are you a budding garden designer?
BATH & North East Somerset Council
is searching for a budding garden designer to create a display for
one of its flower beds in Bath this summer.
The competition has been designed to
commemorate the Royal Horticultural Society’s bicentenary in
2004 and its good relationship with the Council.
The flower bed is located on Wells
Road in Bath and has a 12 metre diameter. It is slightly raised and
is highly visible from the road and walkway.
Designers can choose from a range of
colours and plants including Begonias and Ageratums.
Cllr Paul Crossley, Leader of the
Council, said: “Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Parks section
is famous throughout the local area for its fantastic floral
displays during the summer months.
“The Wells Road flower bed is one of
the most prominent beds in the area and as such will be admired by
many people. Good luck – we look forward to seeing those designs.”
Entry forms, including a location of
the bed, will be available at this weekend’s Bath Spring Flower in
Royal Victoria Park. Otherwise people can call 01225 477010 to
arrange for an entry form to be posted to them.
Closing date for entries is Monday,
May 17 and the winner will be notified by the end of May.
The competition is only open to
residents of Bath & North East Somerset who are aged over 18.
