“We want to make it as easy as possible for people to contact us how they want, when they want,” explained Councillor Paul Crossley, Leader of the Council. “Residents should have easy access to all Bath & North East Somerset Council services and information and the introduction of ‘texting’ is just another way of improving access to services and information across the board.”

 

“At the moment we hope people will contact us by text to report things that need repair or collection,” he continued “but in the longer term we plan to use messaging in conjunction with resident requests for automated alerts including road traffic status, refuse collection times and fault reporting. Texting also helps improve our access with both the youth and deaf communities.”

The Bath & North East Somerset Action Line takes calls, emails and  texts about litter, potholes, street lights not working, bins that need emptying and a whole host of other topics.

 

However you choose to contact the Action Line, we will reply on the same day unless the contact comes outside normal office hours, when we will contact you during the next working day with details of what we have done. Please remember that we need your contact number in case we need to ask for further details of the problem.
