The award is only given to cafes,
restaurants, takeaways, pubs and canteens who have demonstrated
food hygiene standards that are well above the national standards.
Being given the award depends on
the premises meeting the relevant standards in areas such as good

training and hazard analysis.

Kieran Mott, Landlord of The Globe
Inn at Newton St Loe, said: “To receive this award is fantastic
news and is a great opportunity for the team in our kitchen to
show what a brilliant job they do.
“It will also be very reassuring to
our customers to know that the kitchen where their food is
prepared is extremely hygienic.
“I think the awards are a great
idea and will hopefully set a food hygiene precedent to other
businesses in Bath & North East Somerset.”
Details about applying for a Food
Hygiene Award are available from Food Safety officers when they
are conducting their regular inspections. Awards are valid until
