Council to enforce line
restrictions in the evening
Council to
enforce line restrictions in the evening OVER the next few weeks
Bath & North East Somerset Council will be introducing late evening
patrols by parking attendants in the city of Bath.
The request has come after concerns
were raised by local residents and taxi drivers about people parking
on double yellow lines in the evening.
Parking is not permitted on double
yellow lines at any time of the day or night. Cllr Sir Elgar
Jenkins, Executive Member for Transport and Highways, said: “All of
us should realise that parking on double lines is not permitted
“Please be aware that if you do park your car illegally in Bath you
will be liable for a parking fine and therefore it is only
reasonable that Bath & North East Somerset Council should make
people aware of the restrictions.”
Residents in the central area with a
valid permit can park their cars in the Charlotte Street, Avon
Street and Ham Gardens car parks free of charge from 5.30pm-10am and
residents with a Zone Six permit can park in Charlotte Street free
of charge from 5.30pm-10am.
