Half term fun a-plenty

PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES

A RANGE of activities to suit children of all ages and interests is on offer at Bath & North East Somerset Council’s heritage attractions in Bath during the June half term holiday.

On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, June 2, 3 and 4, young visitors to the Roman Baths are invited to be time travellers for the day and journey through the history of Bath from the days of Bladud to the present day.

The Time Traveller activity sessions are at 10am-1pm and 2pm-4pm on all three days – tickets for the sessions are free although usual admission prices apply for entry to the Roman Baths.

At the Museum of Costume on Wednesday, June 2 drop in sessions at 11.30am-12.30pm, 1.30pm-2.30pm and 3.30pm-4.30pm will be inviting youngsters to take inspiration from the floral patterns on the clothes in the Jane Austen exhibition to create a variety of craft items such as book covers, fridge magnets and small boxes.

Tickets for Flowery Fun at the Museum of Costume cost £1.50 per child which includes materials.

Over at the Victoria Art Gallery the Young @ Art Club will be back in action on Tuesday, June 1 and Thursday, June 3 at 10.30am-12noon and 1.30pm-3pm.

Younger members aged three to seven will be meeting on June 1 to see how many birds they can spot in the Gallery before making their own to take home.

Older club members aged six to 11 will be meeting on June 3 to discover some new craft techniques to create some colourful reptiles.

Tickets for the Young @ Art Club events cost £3 per child and must be booked in advance by calling the Gallery on 01225 477244.

All children must be accompanied by an adult at all sessions at the Roman Baths, Museum of Costume and Victoria Art Gallery.
