Shopmobility trial in Keynsham
BATH & North East Somerset Council
is launching a new shopmobility service for people visiting Keynsham
that will be available on Wednesdays from May 5.
The service will be available from
the Baptist Church Rooms in High Street from 9.30am-4.00pm with
powered scooters and manual wheelchairs for hire to anyone with
limited mobility.
The scheme will be in operation for
a trial period of three months following the success of the Bath
shopmobility service based at 4 Railway Street.
Cllr Vic Pritchard, Executive Member
for Community Safety and Housing, said: “I am very pleased that Bath
& North East Somerset Council has been able to expand the
shopmobility service outside of Bath for this trial period.
“I am sure this will prove very
beneficial for shoppers and visitors to Keynsham.”
Initially there will be a small
number of scooters and wheelchairs available for hire so booking is
advisable. Please contact Jacky Bates or Barbara Whittaker at the
Shopmobility shop in Bath to pre-book a time on Tel/Fax: 01225
481744 or Minicom: 01225 481773.
